When I was asked to review Ann Brashares’s new book, I couldn’t turn it down. I am such a fan of her popular series, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, so, of course, I have very high hopes for anything she writes.
Well….The Whole Thing Together did not disappoint! This novel was very beautifully and eloquently written, dealing with the issues of young love, family, and loss. It also showed the great lengths people will go to during a divorce to maintain normalcy for their children.
The book is set on a beach in Long Island and makes a perfect summer read for those lazy days in the sun. Ann Brashares has an amazing way with words and her images of this picturesque setting came alive for me between the pages. It is definitely a quick read, and one can easily finish it in a weekend.
I would recommend this great novel for anyone who enjoys a good family love story.
